THE SUN didn't quite shine on our Christmas lunch this year but the snow-drifts of 2010 were but a distant memory for Norma Shillinglaw and the big turn-out of Mansfield U3A members and guests who appreciated her organisation and the skills of the kitchen team and all the staff at the Oakham Suite.

A good crowd, good food, good drinks, good service and good company so what's more to say?

As refurbishment of the St John Centre Hall will not be finished in time for us to use it for the Scottish-themed New Year Social on 7th January it will be held at the Beacon Centre on Wood Street instead.  This is part of St John's Church and used to be the church hall. See What's On.

Luncheon Club and Photo Albums have been updated with photos of the lunch at Barker's, Clumber Park, last week.

An updated itinerary for the Mansfield U3A holiday by air to Croatia in September and October 2012 has been published on Holidays; provisional plans for visits to the Malvern Spring Show, Castle Howard and Renishaw  Hall have been published on Garden Visits and the Pudding Club and the Gardening Group have both published 2012 meeting dates.

Chat and Stitch has been updated with a photo of some clothes knitted for African children.

Wine Appreciation 3 has published its programme of tastings for 2012.
